Washing methods

Towels

There are plenty of various washing methods. Some methods are used for domestic washing purposes, while others are only intended for commercial cleaning institutions. However, the basic washing principles are the same, regardless of the washing method.

The basic washing principles concern general information which is necessary to know in order to achieve a good washing result. For instance, it is important to examine the textile material of the laundry and the type of dirt.

The washing principles are applicable to each of the following washing methods:

Traditional washing
Domestic washing and professional washing both use traditional washing. Water and detergents are used to wash in a washer extractor.

Wet-cleaning
Wet-cleaning is an innovative supplement to dry-cleaning. The garments are washed using water as the solvent, and special detergents and additives are required. The wet-cleaning system provides the possibility to wash materials which normally requires dry-cleaning.

Dry-cleaning
Dry-cleaning is a common washing method used for special linen which is sensitive to water, such as wool and silk. This washing method uses organic solvents in a dry-cleaning machine.

Liquid CO2 clean
A new and still not yet fully developed washing method is the liquid CO2 cleaning method. This washing process has evolved from the wet-cleaning process, and liquid CO2 serves as an entirely recyclable solvent. The tremendous advantages of this washing method to-be, are the energy-efficient instant drying procedure, the faster cleaning cycles and reduced impact on the environment.
